The indicator aims to evaluate the organization’s investments in companies that produce agrochemicals, including pesticides. The purpose is to determine the percentage of investments in these companies, address potential environmental impacts associated with these investments. The EU Pesticides Database allows users to search for information on active substances used in plant protection products.

Regulatory definition

Division 20.2 of Annex I is the NACE code described by:Manufacture of pesticides and other agrochemical products. It includes: manufacture of insecticides, rodenticides, fungicides, herbicides, acaricides, molluscicides, biocides, manufacture of anti-sprouting products, plant growth regulators, manufacture of disinfectants (for agricultural and other use), manufacture of other agrochemical products n.e.c.

L’indicateur vise à évaluer les investissements de l’organisation dans des entreprises qui produisent des produits agrochimiques, notamment des pesticides. L’objectif est de déterminer le pourcentage d’investissements dans ces entreprises et de traiter les impacts environnementaux potentiels associés à ces investissements. La base de données de l’UE sur les pesticides permet aux utilisateurs de rechercher des informations sur les substances actives utilisées dans les produits phytopharmaceutiques.

Agrochemicals are substances used in agriculture for crop enhancement and pest control. Pesticides are chemical substances specifically designed to prevent and destroy pests that may harm corps. However, pesticides are found to be environmentall harmful due to their potential exocity, residue accumulation in soil and water as well as impact on non-crop plants and biodiversity.
